“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved”

Winnie the Pooh

In addition to being born in Brooklyn NY, Joe has the distinction of being the middle child between two rather dull brothers. Always one to shine, he excelled in art, design and sarcasm. Having a fierce sense of competition Joe found himself being the envy of all his friends. After graduating with many awards and accolades from the prestigious Edward R Murrow High School, Joe went on to the famed Fashion Institute of Technology. This is where his talent for fashion design shone brightly. Once graduating Joe set out to conquer 7th avenue. Although landing slightly off 7th avenue he went on to have a lucrative career designing women’s wear. Needing change and a different type of stimulation, Joe shifted direction and landed a position as Design Director for the prestigious Tonner Doll Company. At Tonner his talents as a costume and product designer exploded like a thousand shimmering lights. After a lengthy stay with Tonner it was time to move on. The need to dress the human form was calling him back. This came in the shape of Halloween costumes! He was offered a position at Rubies Costume Company as Design Director. Here he quickly moved up the so called “company ladder” to Global Design Director and this is where he finds himself today. Who knows what the future brings for Joe?

Joe currently enjoys life on the gorgeous north shore of Long Island with his partner of 30 years James and their 4 dogs. When he’s not working he enjoys spending time at home decorating with books, watching British telly and bedazzling dog coats. He also is a collector of Disneyana, Streisand memorabilia, and whatever he can’t find the heart to dispose of.
